Furman offers programs and majors in 42 different subjects. The college offers coed dorms, special housing for international students, men’s dorms, women’s dorms, apartments for single students, theme housing, and wellness housing. Only 6 percent of students attending Furman University reside off-campus.
Furman University offers quite an exciting Greek life. Currently, there are 14 active fraternities and sororities. As part of the Greek family at Furman, students pride themselves on their academic achievements, leadership opportunities, and community service work. Fourty-one percent of male students attending Furman are in a fraternity and 54 percent of female students who attend Furman are in a sorority.
Along with Greek life, Furman offers several different athletic opportunities for students who enjoy the competitive nature of sports. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, lacrosse, football, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field. Women’s sports include basketball, cross country, lacrosse, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Furman competes in NCAA division level I.
