The climax of the play was when Pseudolus agrees to switch places with the owner of the brothel; Marcus Lycus. From that moment on, Pseudolus concocts more trouble trying to prevent the general from claiming Philia. By the end of the play some moments proved to be surprising with happy endings for all characters; Pseudolus gets his freedom, Hero gets to be with Philia, and the general finds out that Philia was his sister. …show more content…
Pseudolus, Lycus, and Hysterium each provided nonstop entertainment and progress of the story. Pseudolus was the mastermind of each incident that took place from beginning to end by manipulating each situation only to make it worse. Hysterium was trapped as Pseudolus’ accomplice due to Pseudolus blackmailing him and Hysterium fearful for his own life decides it was best for him to go along with everything. And Lycus played an important role by trying to switch places with Pseudolus, and by providing the main element that furthered the storyline
