Funeral rites are defined as the burial procession accompanying a body to the grave. I believe having a proper funeral is a very right thing to do. I believe that the proper burial allows the spirit to be at peace and not suffer for eternity. A person's body even if they committed a crime has a right to a proper burial. Funeral rites can be seen in Antigone when Creon refuses to take Polyneices body off the battlefield and have his body be eaten by birds and dogs. I was absolutely disgusted when reading this, I believe that it is very disrespectful to a person to do that even if they did something to you.
