Funeral Home Structure

There are many different organizations that could affect the performance and structure of a funeral home. (5) Affordable Funerals and Cremation Services, has four organizations that can affect the funeral home in a major way. (4) The Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers is a state government office that was created in 1951. The Board of Directors is the office that issues the licensing to open the funeral establishment. The board has field representatives also that go out and inspect the funeral homes and crematories. The inspection is vey precise, and there are no exceptions to the guidelines that have been given. The health department is responsible for filing of the deceased persons death certificate with the state. If the death certificate is filed properly, it could cause a delay with insurance claims and other legal matters. There are delays most times with death certificates because the attending physician has not had time to sign them (Funeral Directors, Embalmers & Burial Services). (2) The suppliers can affect the funeral establishment by not delivering on time or possibly running out of an item. There are several items that a supplier could run out of that could cause a funeral to not take place at the desired date and time. Embalming fluid is an item that is supplied to the funeral home. If the supplier does not provide the embalming fluid that is needed to preserve the body, it will put the funeral home at risk of losing their license. (1) Funeral Funding is an organization that assists with insurance. If a family member has a life insurance policy and that is the only way to finance the funeral service, that is hoe funeral funding helps. (6) Affordable Funerals and Cremation Service is located directly across the street from a high school. The only time the school is affected is when there is a service at the same time the high school lets out. It causes traffic to back up on the street, and in the past, there has been an accident. (7) There are 4 funeral homes within a 5 miles radius of Affordable Funerals and Cremation Services. Competition is all around our funeral home, and we are all in a small community. (8) Due to the fact that Affordable Funerals and Cremation Services has an in-house florist, the other florist in the city lose some of their business to the funeral home. (9) Affordable Funerals also has their own cemetery named East Park Memorial Gardens. This affects the other cemeteries in the
