2. Self-serving bias refers to our inclination to accredit positive incidents to our own personality, values, attitudes, and character overall. On the other hand, negative incidents are attributed to external factors. Whenever I passed a Spanish test in high school I would say that it was due to my detailed note taking skills and studying. However, as many students have done and and continue to do, when I would fail, I blamed the teacher for not explaining properly or the content was too advance for my particular level. In order to avoid making fundamental attribution error and self-serving bias, I firmly believe that learning about these cognitive biases would enable me and others to notice when they are being done. Thus, I will be able to quickly self correct. It is important to also practice self compassion, so that, I will accept that failure is a part of life. Also, I need to be more open and compassionate towards others, and think of all possible reasons an individual may behaving in a certain manner. I must try hard to not prejudge/stereotype
