The better CPU processor you have the faster your computer will run at, for example an Intel dual core i3 is faster than a standard i3 core processor. The CPU is made up of three parts, the CU (control unit), the ALU (arithmetic logic unit) and the registers, each have an important part to play when it comes to running the computer. The registers order the data that comes into the CPU and the sends it to the CU were it is sorted to where it needs to go inside the computer and the mathematical problems or mathematical things (using binary) go to the ALU where they can be solved and then sent back to the CU and sent to where it needs to go.

• Motherboards: The motherboard is where all of the wires and components attach onto so that everything is linked with each other and they can send data to each other to keep the computer running. For example the power supply is connected to the motherboard so it doesn’t have to connect to each component individually, all the other components can attach to the motherboard and access the power that they need. On the motherboard you can find things like the ROM, RAM USB slots, PCI slots etc, so that you can easily connect the components in and everything is then already linked to each

You could imagine a computer without an OS as akin to a store with no one to run it, and see why it is so vital. On top of everything else already stated, knowing which operating system you have is important to ensure you are downloading the correct versions of programs on to your system, so you have the software optimized specifically for that system. Most programs will advertise a different version for each OS, and the wrong version of that program is likely to not function properly.…

The arithmetic/logic unit holds data temporary and where calculation are processed the control units controls and deciphers the execution command and follow the instruction that goes with the sequence of actions. The control unit determines the particular instruction to be executed by reading the program counter (PC) (Englander, I. 2014). Primary memory holds program instructions and data and interacts directly with the CPU during program execution. The control unit also reads and interprets instructions from memory and transforms them into a series of signals to activate other parts of the computer.…
