Importance Of Kidney Failures

Improved Essays
Have you ever what type of things happen when you don’t take care of your body? Every structure in your body works as one giant unit, when one structure stops working it will hinder another structure. One of the more important organs is the kidneys and when they stop working things start to get complicated. Although people can live with just one kidney, trying to live with two kidneys has many problems because the kidneys are so important. The main function of the kidneys is to excrete waste throughout the body, along with balancing body fluid and forming urine. If a person lost both of their kidneys there would be an accumulation of waste products. Kidney failure is a common and life altering condition that can be caused by: • Infection …show more content…
Hemodialysis is a form of dialysis where a machine takes your blood and filters it to clean your blood so they can return it back to your body. The dialysis machine acts like an artificial kidney. The way the whole procedure works is the doctor would make an entrance into your blood vessel, done by a minor surgery, that blood would then transfer into the dialysis machine where it would get filtered and then enters back into a vein. The filter is has two purposes, one for the blood and one for dialysate (a washing fluid). The filters take out the waste products such as urea, creatinine, and other fluids. Hemodialysis is a treatment that requires some life changes, such as dietary lifestyle, daily schedules, and social events. With hemodialysis one needs to be careful about what type of foods they intake. This dietary change is so that the patient will feel their best and the dialysis treatments will be effective, also to help reduce any health complications. The dietary changes involve:
• Increased amount of high-quality protein, such as, lean meat, fish, egg whites and,

Hemodialysis is usually done three times a week and each session is typically four hours long at a dialysis center. Social habits will change because you cant drink any alcohol. When a group of people get together on a Friday night there is usually some drinking but that must be avoided for someone on hemodialysis, at first the change might be hard but it gets easier. Hemodialysis is not something anyone should ever have to go through. The toll it takes on your body and how much it drains the energy out of you is saddening. My uncle Alan actually had renal kidney failure and had to have hemodialysis. Growing up Alan smoked every day and drank every weekend; he didn’t take care of his body and all the destruction caught up to his kidneys. He was on hemodialysis for about five years before he can up from Texas to visit us one summer. During his two weeks up here we had to plan our events around his hemodialysis appointments. Even though he was up here for vacation and visiting we hardly got to see him. When he wasn’t at a dialysis appointment he was taking a nap, he slept more than he did anything. He was so full of life when he was awake but as soon as he got tired you could notice how drained he looked. That summer was the last time I saw my

Interrelated Concepts: The interrelated concepts with perfusion are pain, clotting, inflammation, patient education, nutrition, mobility, gas exchange, elimination, and cognition. Perfusion affects all the systems in the body, because when tissues and organs do not get perfused properly they do not function the way they are supposed to. The first concept is pain, decreased oxygen flow to tissues can cause pain, which is what can happen with anemia because there is a decreased ability to carry oxygen. Pain is also possible with babies that are affected by Rh incompatibility because of the severe anemia and the hepatosplenomegaly.…

Mackay also appeals to the reader's sympathies numerous times in her work, by explaining what patients who are receiving dialysis are going through. She goes on to say, "Dialysis is harsh, expensive, and, worst of all only temporary. With treatment sessions lasting three hours, several times a week, those dependent on dialysis are shackled to a machine for the rest of their lives. Adding excessive stress to the body, dialysis causes patients to feel increasingly tired, usually keeping them from work and other normal activities." (Page 1 Para 3).…

To form the chain, a kidney seller is introduced from the medical centers, so that there is no personal financial transaction between pairs of patient-donor. As you can see in Figure 4, the seller donates his kidney to patient 1, the donor 1 to the second patient and donor 2 to the second patient, and the second donor to the third patient; the third donor also his kidney to the other chains. This chain, in such a way that if the patient i could not be in the chain, the transplantation is not possible for the patients i+1 to the end of the chain and it will be possible for the sub-chain…
