Elderly population can be divided into groups, including the functional elderly, the frail elderly and those with chronic diseases. Each of these groups has specific nutritional requirement. Several factors have to be taken into account when creating a diet for these people, including, age, gender, living conditions, mental and physical state, the medications they may need to take, and social support. I think it was a great idea, because it just goes to show how elderly are really treated by other people. I think if more people read this they will have a different outlook on “old” people.…

Most seniors are mentally and physically active regardless of age with great contributions to society. Societal norms marginalize seniors, treat them with disrespect, and make them feel unwelcome. With the onsets of ageism, seniors are robbed of choice, independence, and dignity. We may be young, but our families are aging, and one day we will be put in a position of ageism.…

Older adults, at the ages of 55 or above, typically experience physical changes to their bodies where their movement and functioning is hindered due to health problems which comply with age. As a result, some older adults choose to participate in physical activity in order to address these health issues. The Department of Health Australia have approved of this notion, by suggesting that “Older people should do some type of physical activity, no matter their age, weight, health complications or physical ability”. Through exercising, the elderly have the opportunity to address their health issues, and may benefit from exercise physically or mentally. However, it’s still argued that exercise may lead to other health complications and thus some may choose to live a highly sedentary lifestyle.…
