Nationwide, telecom providers are lobbying for lower pole attachment rates. The states of Kentucky and Tennessee have had recent regional pressures to lower the attachment rates. TVA to ensure that electric system revenue is not subsidizing pole attachment charges, that are nondiscriminatory and to be consistently figured throughout the valley.
These rates do not apply to reciprocal or joint are agreements. The rates do not address contractual terms such as; safety, make ready, dismantling, etc.
Our current rate is about $12.50 for cable. Our AT&T rate is determined by a contract that is approved by a TVPPA committee that negotiates with AT&T. The AT&T contract will not be used to figure AT&T attachment rates.
