Full Sail Reflection

Decent Essays
When I first came to Full Sail I started off as a recording arts student, I honestly did not know exactly everything that was involved into recording arts itself, however, I knew that I wanted to be able to record and mix, I am also a musician, which, might have also been another reason why I felt so interested in recording arts at the beginning. After my sixth or seventh month in my degree, I started to question myself and think a lot more precise about what I wanted to do after I graduate and also trying to find the specific field in which my passion was truly involved. During this time, I was already taking my first show production overview type of classes, in which I was already being introduced to a whole different world with a large

Throughout the movie Sankofa it becomes very evident very quickly how prejudice and biased the whites are, even before you witness the whole slavery aspect of the film. Sankofa shows a brutal truth about The Caribbean’s past that many people, especially Caucasians, don’t like to mention or think about. Through my analysis I will look further into how the film and readings from the class coordinate with one another, as well as the whole process of Creolization for the Africans and the Americans. Sankofa shows the Creolization of Africans to the American culture and how they slowly try and adapt to the language, as well as the new culture they have been introduced to. It also shows their adaptation to being slaves rather than indigenous…

I was at Easter Seals Lilly Academy this week which consisted of three teachers. There was no occupational therapist or any other therapist at the facility. If a child needed therapy, they received it outside of the school. Sometimes the therapist will speak with the teachers and let them know what individual needs and skills the student is addressing in therapy and the teachers will incorporate that into the school as best as they can. Easter Seals School was a school for children with special needs and cognitive issues from 4-22 years old.…

Detaching myself from the world around me to look in as a third party exposed the culture I have been raised into. To complete this assignments I went to Mirror Lake on campus to observe and document the social behaviors I witnessed. I recorded over a two day span. I first sat by the northern side of the lake on the stone fence, to be aloof from what was transpiring in front of me. The second day I sat on the western side on the grass under the trees to get right in the middle of what was happening.…

While looking through stacks of pictures I realize how important the memories in the photos are to me. One particular photo, from ninth grade, is especially significant to me not because of how I or my friends look, but because of how much my life has changed in the few years since I began high school. Walking through the doors of Bartram trail High School my first day freshman year was the start of who I was and who I would become. Today and I am a bigger and better person than I was the first day of high school as I have become the person I wish to be and I have high school to thank for that, but more importantly I have Link Crew to thank. I demonstrated leadership at the waterfront festival by presenting the importance and safety of keeping water clean. I expressed this by keeping the students focused, letting them engage in hands on experiments, and answering all their questions to help them get a better understanding of what was happening. These leadership skills helped me earn respect from each student. One of the ways I demonstrated leadership while presenting to the students was making sure they were focused on my presentation.…

In the film Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, it has shown me how much young girls and women in worldwide are not getting the equal opportunities compared to men. As I was watching the film, many young girls are not getting educated due to their non-supportive environments where their family traditions are for women to be working for the family as they do not believe in women getting education, and as a girl they are to be married off to or sell their body to support family financially.
