Module three gave way to information that will become extremely useful to me, I have found most important element to pursue in my development is transformational leadership. The model covers transformational leadership in chapter seven, Full Range Leadership Development (FLRD). After completing the Electronic Self-Assessment of Leadership Behaviors (e-slab), my results have identified that I should work more specifically towards applying the four I’s: Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individualized Consideration. Understanding how to apply and develop these concepts into my leadership style will allow me to share these qualities with my peers, subordinates and supervisors. Out of the four I’s, there is two that I scored well in and feel at ease with applying them in my leadership style. I use Intellectual Stimulation, or the ability or fully think about all scenarios and individuals, and Individualized Consideration, the concept of caring about all elements and individuals, with comfort knowing I am displaying the appropriate ways to follow these examples, I do believe that there is always room for improvement in any category of leadership, …show more content…

The framework for leadership proposed by the IHI Senior Fellow, Thomas Nolan, Will-Ideas-Execution, assists in defining the roles a leader must take to achieve the Triple Aim (Bisognano & Kenney, 2012). The first step in the leadership framework, will, focuses on building the will needed to start the innovation and other required changes that the Triple Aim entails (Bisognano & Kenney, 2012). In order to build the will to change to comply with the Triple Aim leaders should be honest in their assessment of themselves and their companies that they represent. By doing so leaders are able to identify areas in need of change, validate the need to change to others, and gain the will to make the changes with the support of their co-workers in the effort of achieving the Triple Aim.…

A strong leader should have a high Emotional Intelligence (EI) factor for the staff to want to follow with his/her vision. If the culture is not where it needs to be leadership should first model the behaviors they wish to institute and then reinforce that behavior in others when observed. (Gokenbach,…

This theory was developed by Burns (1978) and later enhanced by Bass (1985, 1998). The general idea of the transformational leadership theory is the leader’s power to motivate the follower to achieve more than what the follower premeditated to accomplish (Krishnan, 2005). Transformational leadership consumes of four components: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration (Bass, 1985).
