Full House Show Analysis

America’s favorite sitcom, Full House, was dearly missed after having a very successful run for eight seasons. While the show came to an end in 1995, according to Business Insider “not only had Full House anchored ABC's Friday night comedies and stayed on top for most of its seasons, but it's still airing 40 times a week in repeats” (Nededog 1). The popular show had many fans hoping that there would be a reunion for years. Fortunately for them, there was, however, a little different from a traditional one. In 2014, there were talks about creating a spin-off. There were reports that Warner Brothers Television was considering a series reboot. John Stamos also known as “Uncle Jesse” had an ownership stake in the show and was heading up the attempt …show more content…
Things did not start to go into motion until 2014. According to Business Insider, Full House creator, Franklin, had thought about creating the new show for years."We had started back in 2008 trying to get this happening and it didn't come together and there wasn't anybody interested in any serious way, which was baffling to me because it's so hard to launch a show these days that any leg up you can get is crucial” (Nededog 1). John Stamos signed up to be the executive producer, and cast originals Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber all agreed to be a part of the project. Hiring the cast was very important for this sitcom. Most of the originals came back to give the ‘reunion feel.’ Warner Brothers hired a casting agency who hosted multiple casting calls. Some of the new actors that had been hired were Michael Campion as Jackson Fuller, Elias Harger as Max Fuller, Soni Nicole Bringas as Ramona, and Juan Pablo Di Pace as Fernando. The producers did very well with getting most of the characters from Full House to come back. During the first season, they were going for more of a reunion theme, so they had actors like Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin come back for surprise visits. Casting these actors in the spin-off gave the audience just what they were looking for. To see the entire Tanner family household coming back together for the first time in years. This increased audience viewings because people loved the funny moments and characters in the original series. In the series, the audience can hear famous old lines such as ‘ head mercy’ and ‘how rude.’ The producers and the casting director did a good job implementing old characters and also add new characters to the show who still move the narrative along. An audience member can still re-visit memories, but also enjoy a new show with a different story

I personally think the show “The Beverly Hillbillies” are in a way exploiting white stereotypes. They are showcasing a family from the country moving into a lavish educated society. The show plays on the perception of white trash society, such as rednecks or hillbillies. Although the show is done for comedy purposes, it does capitalize on stereotypes within society. In the book Dean mentions, “Even critics who enjoy the show do so from a crouched defensive posture” which is regarding to another popularized hillbilly show, Honey Boo Boo, but showcases the feelings audiences may be feeling.…

Although the show had general favorable reviews, the show was cancelled after one season due to low ratings. NBC executives were excited about the series and predicted the series to be a hit success opening more doors to latin themed content in the network. The show was expected to be favorable for two main reasons: it had an all latino cast and, although the main actress did not speak Spanish, the show contained “a lot of latin culture”. Even though the show had an all latino cast, the show somewhat mocked telenovelas by using slapstick comedy and exaggerated melodramatic characters. Perhaps if the show depicted a more realistic behind the scenes of a Spanish telenovela, maintaining the comedy on the lines rather than the mannerisms and exaggerated personalities of the characters, the show may have lasted for another…

All the actors seemed very professional and owned the characters they were playing. There was just something about Abele that caught my eye. For instance, every time Brittany Caldwell (Molly in The Gnädiges Fräulein) asked Abele to rock with her in the rocking chair she did not hesitate and went overboard. She exaggerated the movement and moaning to an extent that made you laugh because she was not scared to make a fool of herself. In addition, she had her own excerpt in the begging of the scene that really set the tone.…

The remaining years were more about a wholesome, but large, family with universal plot lines that were familiar to anyone growing up in suburban, middle-class America. The Brady Bunch made it through for years because it spent little or no time on actual current events or fads, but focused on topics that were significant to any generation of kids. The Brady Bunch is a base of American pop culture and is a pure example of classic TV. Many people compare themselves to others, sometimes to fictional others.…

Watching this episode of ABC’s All in the Family, was very interesting. I do not usually watch the older shows, so this really opened my eyes and showed how the white people thought differently about African-American people. I think that this episode mostly made fun of the prejudices that some people had because of the way Sammy Davis Jr. responded to Archie’s comments. In this show, Archie had several opinions about African-American people, and I got the feeling that he was against equality between the races. He was not so open about it and tried to cover it up when Sammy Davis Jr. came by, but I think that he still did not think that it was right to be equal with the black people.…
