Full house is a family show that demonstrates many variations of relational communications. When we analyze the relationships with in this big family you start to see the themes that were discussed in the beginning of this paper. I chose this film to analyze these themes because they are a blended family with various dimensions. For example, the characters Jessie and Joey are involuntary family, they are not biologically related. They became family because they were living with each other and were sharing the same family roles. Both Jessie and Joey voluntarily moved in with the widowed father Danny to help him take care of his children. Their role was being a care giver and supporter for the children. Throughout the series these two men have …show more content…
In the series Full house you will see the three siblings DJ who is the oldest, Stephany who is the middle child, and Michelle who is the baby. They deal with many conflicts involving space, attention, and territory. While DJ is the oldest she is trying to develop individuality throughout the season. She is going through phases of growth that cannot be compared to her younger sisters. However, Stephany is often trying to compete with DJ, fighting to be considered her equal but she fails to understand that they are in different age groups. Stephany always tries to follow her oldest sister and do what she does. Michelle on the other hand is still a baby so she gets majority of the attention from the adults in the house. In this season Stephany tries to compete for attention from the adults because she feels that the middle child is often forgotten. DJ and Stephany share a room together so they share more conflict with each other than with Michelle. In episode 5 season 2 DJ and Stephany often used competitive fighting. One example would be when DJ came home from her karate practice and was angry with Stephany and her friend for playing on her bed. She ordered Stephany and her friend to stay away from her stuff, Stephany retaliated by saying that DJ was only upset that she had a boyfriend and DJ didn’t. This is a perfect example of how siblings share conflict about competition and territory. In episode 10 season 2 Stephany begins to compete over attention of her family. Michelle gets attention from the family because she is the baby and they want to document her first step, first word, or anything that they can. While DJ is the oldest, they help her out with projects in class and teenage issues. Stephany begins to get Jealous and depressed, she confesses to her friend that she feels that her family don’t care for her as much as they do for her sisters. She decides to have a
