Economic Questions Children’s early experiences have a crucial and long-lasting impact on their future development. In the first year of life, children’s brains develop rapidly, which are influenced by their early experiences with people and surroundings. Studies show that positive early years experiences lead to improved health, resulting in better social, economic, and health outcomes throughout the life cycle. Recently, sending children to a full-day kindergarten has become a popular choice for many parents in North America. The proposed paper is going analyze if full-day kindergarten really benefits children’s overall development. The reading data included phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and comprehension scores. By comparing the results, the researcher concluded that the full-day kindergarten program did not show overall higher scores than the half-day kindergarten program.
Economic Policy Concerns The benefits of full-day kindergarten are increasingly supported by educational policy groups. Since 2003, the Government of Ontario has made great strides in providing early learning and child care services that support young children and their families. During this time, the government introduced the Best Start program and has taken important steps towards creating more integrated children’s services and Best Start Child and Family Centres. The government also established the College of Early Childhood Educators (the first self-regulatory body in Canada overseeing a professional membership of early childhood educators). More recently, the government launched full-day kindergarten, with full implementation established by 2014. The government’s commitment to modernize the child care system is the next step in the transformation process.
