Fulf Next To The Elephants And The Giraffes-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
I sat on the shelf next to the elephants and the giraffes. I was big, white, and fluffy. I always wear my pink ribbon around my neck, because it would show all of the other bunnies that I was the best bunny in the store. I had a perfect view out of the window. I watched all the snotty children running around with their parents. They would always pick me up then there rude parents would tell them no. How rude of them. It was the same boring routine every day. I would sit on my shelf watching out into the street. I had always wondered what it would be like to live with a family. I mean they would be super lucky to have me. Everyday was the same. Talk about boring. It was like I was in a time loop. Until one day when the cycle was broken.

My summer started off fantastic, I was sleeping in, I was hanging with my fiends, I was helping my dad on the farm and, and playing baseball. I wasn't really worried about school, I was more worried about football. Everyone was telling me that the first 2 weeks of football were going to suck, they were saying that we were going to have to condition a lot. The main thing everyone was talking about was that we had to lift a tone. I kept thinking to myself, why am I doing this, than it hit me, I have to be doing it for a reason, if there wasn't a reason I wouldn't be doing it.…

A Move to the South The loud noises of car screeching to a stop, train horn blaring, or police sirens flaring. The typical big city noises that everywhere gets woken up to at night was about to come to an end. North is very different from the South, so trying to adapt would be harder than I ever imagine. When I was four, I became a world-renowned veterinarian. Confidently, I strolled out of my house wearing my ID card and lab coat into the crisp and brightly lit night air. It was Halloween, and I was ready to conquer the neighborhood. Even though I was only playing the part of animal doctor for the night, it was evident that my love for amazing creatures was as real as any vet’s.…

Before I knew what was happening, I was on the cold, hard floor. Confusion and embarrassment lingered within me, waiting to surface. To me, a five year-old girl, there were only two options at hand: stay on the floor and cry about the pain, or get up and deal with the situation. Ten minutes prior to this incident, I was content as I stood up in the spacious shopping cart, strolling along Cabela’s, the hunting and fishing gear superstore. Although hunting and fishing did not truly interest me, the taxidermied animal exhibits were fascinating, and contributed to why I enjoyed being at the store.…

If one were to ask a young girl want she wants to be when she grows up, she would proudly say a princess, or maybe a rock star. I’ve never been the typical girl though and my answer was always different. Some days I wanted to be a dog trainer or a zookeeper and being a marine biologist wouldn’t be too bad. In middle school I realized what all these jobs had in common; animals. I knew whole heartedly that I wanted to work with them, to improve not only their health and welfare, but also that of the community they were in.…

I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

My First Deer One brisk 30 degree day in January, when I was nine years old, was a day for which I was extremely excited. My dad got me out of school earlier that day, so we could go deer hunting. I had already shot a turkey the year before, so guns were nothing new to me. We made a quick stop at my house so that we could pick up the .243 youth edition, a really short barreled .243, that my dad had bought just about a month before so that we could go hunting, and I would actually be able to handle the gun. At this point we did not have the hunting land that we do today, so we went to my grandpa’s house and hunted in the clearing of trees behind his house.…

The fall season this year is much hotter than any other years, but the weather did not keep me from packing my lunches and camera for my trip to the Los Angeles Zoo. Since I took all my courage to take this chance and request one day off from work, I had high expectation for this trip. I prepared the lunches on Sunday night so that it would lessen the time for preparation on Monday, the actual date. Departing at 9 o'clock in the morning, it took about one-hour driving and half an hour parking until I get to stand in front of the entrance with the sign saying "LOS ANGELES ZOO. " My friend must have been a little tired of dealing with my craziness over the idea of getting away from the city's loudness, but to me, it is like an adventure.…
