Response: Per Section VI-1001, the intent of the downtown districts is to create an urban environment that is a comfortable and interesting place to live and walk. Therefore, in means of maintaining and protecting the unique and distinctive appearance along Fruitville Road, we are striving to protect existing trees in lieu of the required façade along the stated roadway. As the development pattern for this section of Fruitville Road has been established it would be in the community’s interest to promote beautification due to subject site being within the gateway entry of downtown.

The predictability and flexibility embodied in the Downtown Core is intended to permit creativity and diversity in architectural design, because the construction, renovation and maintenance of outstanding buildings and public spaces continue to contribute to the health, welfare, character and history of the city and its citizens.
