I would first like to thank Frostburg State University for accepting me in their institution and giving me the chance to further my education after my high school scholar years. I have enjoyed my time at Frostburg State University and with hard work I have been able to make the dean’s list and be accepted in the Honors program during the first semester of my freshman year. I hope to continue to work even harder during the second semester and throughout my school career. As a small university, Frostburg has enabled me to benefit from many things, such as the small size classes. Now that I have gotten used to college and life on campus, I believe it is time to continue to push myself to work harder and to attend an institution where I could be academically challenged and can be surrounded by many people who share my profession. …show more content…
I went from a young boy out of Doula, Cameroun, who did not know a word of English, to a young adult who was a finalist at Roberto Clemente Middle school national geography bee, to an adult who earned straight A’s, honor roll, scholar athlete of the month and took IB classes from my community college while still in high school.
Coming from a low income family, my mom struggled a lot with the bills, and our house was unfortunately taken by the government because we were no longer able to afford the mortgage. For most of my life I have watched my mom, a single mom, going back to school, working double shifts, sleepless nights studying, and borrowing money to pay our rent just to make sure my brothers and I were comfortable enough. She hated the idea of consenting us to work during the school year because she wanted my siblings and me to focus in school and bring home good
