He calls Brad up to the stage, at the end of the concert, and asks him about his condition which educates the people at the concert and helps Brad win their understanding and acceptance. As Brad grows older he decides that he wants to become the teacher he never had, which was easier said than done. He also dreams of getting a master degree. Although he had an impressive resume, getting a job was a humongous challenge because of TS. He was turned down in 24 consecutive interviews because of his TS and finally on his 25th interview he was accepted to be a second grade teacher. Brad’s frankness about TS, his easy-going manner, his sense of humor, and his optimistic outlook on everything quickly won over his second graders. In addition to the traditional curriculum, the students learn some valuable lessons in understanding and tolerance. Brad meets Nancy in an online dating site, where the two meet up and fall in love. At the end of the year Brad was named Georgia’s outstanding first-year teacher, after an observer at the school assesses Brad's teaching.
