Front Doors-Personal Narrative

We walked out of my front doors and started down the sidewalk toward my sister’s car. I followed Shelbie into the third row of seats while Ivy, Annalise, and Jessica piled into the middle row. Our knees brushed the leather of the middle row seats and our dresses crumpled beneath our legs. The engine rumbled as Devin turned the key in the ignition. Ivy glanced back at me, snickered, and murmured something inaudible to Jessica and Annalise. I only caught a few words of what she said, but it was enough for me to realize that I didn’t want to know what they were saying. I caught Shelbie looking at the three girls and trying to piece together what was going on. She turned to me with her eyebrows furrowed above her nose in a look of concern …show more content…
They were probably bright white at one time, but now they are more of a pale grayish color. I turned to my left and saw the rarest of occurrences, especially at a dance. There were no other girls in the bathroom. It’s a miracle, I thought. I headed straight for the second mirror to the left, the only one without any water around the sink below it. I sat my purse on the counter and unzipped the front pocket with my iPhone and my lipstick. My hands mindlessly uncapped the tube, twisted the bottom, and dabbed it on. My lips slowly changed from a faded __(actual color of the lipstick, like red or something like that)__ to a sharp and bright_(color of lipstick, but color on the tube)_. I looked to my side and Shelbie was finger-combing her hair back into place. I noticed that even though she only had on mascara and some lip gloss, she looked stunning in her natural beauty. I wish that I could be as confident as her. My phone said that the time was 10:42, which gave me a little less than an hour before Devin would be picking me up. I quickly threw on a new coat of deodorant and Shelbie and I walked back into the …show more content…
Devin was going to be here soon and I couldn’t let her see me like this. She would never stop making fun of me for crying over a boy that I didn’t even know that well to begin with. Shelbie reached into her purse and pulled out a small compact mirror and a makeup wipe, so I could get the mascara off of my face. I pried open the mirror and flipped open the top part. As I did so, the mirror slid out of my hands and landed face-down on the concrete. My hands reached for the mirror and flipped it over. The bottom half shattered into pieces, but the top half remained intact. Shelbie held it steadily in front of my face I looked like a jigsaw puzzle in the bottom half and your typical teenage girl in the top. As I lifted the wipe to my cheek, I saw a figure coming toward me through the reflection in the mirror. It was Ray. I let out a sigh of relief. Whenever we talked, I always felt better about myself and I felt more confident. With him around, I feel like I can be myself and I can talk to him about almost anything. That is exactly what I need right now. He approached me somewhat hesitantly and with his voice slightly shaky said, “You didn’t need him or Ivy. To be honest, I never liked them anyway. Let’s just go back into the dance and forget that all of that even

After putting on our bright pink leotards and ballet shoes, which trust me we're not the most fashionable, we went out to the car to wait on Dianna’s mom. I should mention it was still raining as if the earth would flood outside, this made it slightly hard to hear but we ran out to the car anyway. Me, Dianna, and Dalton bolted through the door, sprinting to the car that Dianna had unlocked with the small remote. The cold rain made the humid, hot day not feel as bad as the rest of that summer had been, which was dry and hot. When we got into the car we sat for a bit but then Dianna decided she wanted to turn on the music so she jumps to the front seat of the car.…

Some things I would achieve if I was to arrive in an usual place called Fall Hall are explore this district, scout around for new supplies, and the last thing I would do is search around for some water, food, and electricity. Since I was unfamiliar with this new zone I went around and searched for supplies. While I was searching around I noticed something shiny and since the sun was up the light reflected off the mirror and into my eyes. As I got closer to the new object I snoticed that it was 1978 ford f150. Since I was traveling by foot, I took a peek inside to see if the keys were in the ignition.…

It has been eight years since I last visited Glen Ellen Farm, but it is as fresh in my mind as if I was there yesterday. I always referred to Glen Ellen as my Aunt Debbie’s farm, but I eventually learned there is a long history with this place. An engineer for the B&O Railroad line originally built and owned the property in the 1850s. In 1874, the property was sold to Professor Herbert Thompson and his wife, Lady Ellen Thompson, who were from London. It was four years later when he and his wife opened Glen Ellen Academy at the manor house.…

But I was not, I had a fear of getting hurt, from falling and scraping my knee to just fighting. I heard thumps that roared across the other side of the dome building and bellowing from each person as a kick or punch was thrown out. I was mortified to see all the people that were being taken care of by the paramedics as I might be in their shoes later.…
