From The Dead Book Summary

In the book, From The Dead we are introduced to Rennie Charbonneau, he is the main character in the book. At the start of the book he is in Detroit. It than flashes back to the start of his vacation in Uruguay. His cousin Adam texts him and says check your email. He receives an email from his cousin Adam. In this email he gets a picture of a fake passport with his deceased grandfathers picture in it. There was also a picture of a person wearing a German war uniform which was circled. There was a hand written map and a page containing secret codes. Rennie emailed Adam and said, “I’m in.” Rennie went to visit someone; this person knew the name of the person wearing the German uniform. He was walking to a hotel when someone started to shoot at him. He returned to the police station, and by mistake he picked up the shooter’s phone, because he thought it was his. Rennie was once again released from the police station.
He later followed the family that he had met earlier to a restaurant. At the restaurant Katya and her boyfriend Noah, were having a big celebration because they were going to get married. Earlier Rennie found out about a key to a safe deposit box that Katya and Noah were trying to find because it was storing a lot of gold and jewelry.
After the celebration Katya and Noah went to an abandoned house and Rennie secretly followed them there. Rennie is caught by Noah and he points a gun at him. Ed who is a friend of The Major, (Rennie’s dad) shows up. Ed points a gun at Noah and tells Noah to give the key back to Katya. Once Katya has the key, Ed than tells Katya to give him the key or he will shoot her. Noah than shots Ed and the police respond and arrest Noah. Rennie is later picked up from the police station by his grandmother.
