Frog And Toad Play Analysis

I attended the Frog and Toad musical, performed by the King’s Players, with my roommate on October 6th. Initially, I was unsure what to expect since I had no prior experience with the story nor a King’s theatrical production. Throughout the first half of the show I found myself rather annoyed by the lack of a plot, but once I was able to ignore this criticism I began to appreciate the show’s message. From my perspective, this message that the play wished to convey to the audience was the definition of true friendship. For instance, this can be seen through the two friends working through differences, surprising the other with random acts of kindness, and helping to realize the other’s hopes and dreams. In addition, I came to the realization that I must learn to be more proactive in my relationships and develop better communication skills. This is because both are essential in maintaining long-distance relationships. Unfortunately, these types of relationships are typically unadvised due to either their potential to become a distraction from important everyday responsibilities, such as schoolwork, or the slim success rate. Although, it is also because of the extra effort put in and the solid foundation that emerges from the distance that makes taking such risks worthwhile. Furthermore, through this experience, one is able to form an overall greater personal connection with others outside the realm of physical interactions. This is also an important concept that both children and adults alike can learn from. It is particularly needed in our present society, in which most people are solely focused on satisfying their own needs and desires, rather than helping others to do so.
