The children's book, Frog and Toad Together, might not have challenging language or plot lines, but it does have life lessons that can apply to real life situations for anyone from children to adults. In the book, Frog and Toad show the importance of being organized and having a plan. The first chapter, A List, shows us that life can become far easier when we have a plan for the future, but be careful not to be too organized. In the second chapter, The Garden, we learn that persistence is key. The third chapter, Cookies, is all about will power. The fourth chapter, Dragons and Giants, teaches it’s readers not only how to be brave, but that being afraid can be okay too. You can’t have too much of either. The fifth and final chapter, The Dream, …show more content…
In the chapter, The Garden, Toad notices Frog’s exceptionally well kept garden. He decides that he wants to start a garden in his yard. Frog supports this idea and gives Toad some seeds to plant. Frog informs Toad that the seeds will start growing soon. Impatiens begins to ensue as Toad misunderstood how quickly his seeds should start to grow. “‘Now seeds,’ said Toad, ‘start growing’”(Lobel 20). He begins to get frustrated with the timely process and wonders what it is he is doing wrong. He begins to shout at the seeds, then he fears that he has made his seeds afraid to grow. He leaves them alone until night when he believes that they are afraid of the dark. Toad lit some candles, read a story, sang, read poems, and played music for his seeds. He begins to feel extremely frustrated with the seeds and falls asleep. When he wakes up, the seeds have started to sprout. Toad’s experience with the seeds can be connected to people today because of the type of world we live in. With almost everything being a click away now, people have no sense of patients. People begin to feel embittered with anything that takes more than a few minutes, or even seconds, to complete. Long processes, such as gardening, tend to stress people out and it causes them to give up. Toad learned that by being patient, he can eventually get what he worked for. Children and Adults should take notes from Toad’s experience and learn that sometimes, the best things are worth waiting

Being a TCU horned frog feels right for many reasons. TCU affords me the opportunity to move away from my hometown, Waco, it allows me to select from any of the majors I've considered; it provides me all of the resources I need to learn and excel; and it means I get to cheer on one of the best football teams in the nation, all while being in a faith-growing environment. I found, during my campus tour, the aspect I was most impressed by was the TCU spirit. Every student my tour group encountered wore a prideful smile, excitedly greeting their peers and every now and then one would yell a “Go frogs!”.…

In Josh Sundquist’s book Just Don't Fall he covers many aspects of the average human and the way we go about things. One aspect that I like is he really strives to show the drive, and the urge to never give up no matter what circumstances you are presented with. After reading this book I really decided to rethink many aspects of my own life and questioned how determined am I to actually do stuff. One way I plan to apply this to my own life is by putting all my effort into something if i'm going to even bother with it in the first place. What I mean is I don't wanna half ass it if my names going to be on the paper.…
