Friday the 13th has been stereo typically known as one of the most unlucky days. This has been a stigma believed for decades and is actually known to be a day people try to avoid. But where did this idea of Friday the 13th come from? Who decided it to be the most unlucky day of the year?
There isn't a clear answer to this question so today we're breaking down all the myths that made Friday the 13th the scariest day of the year for some.
The Last Supper

Some say this day stems from the Last Supper and the 13 guests that sat around the table at the Last Supper. The idea comes from the fact that Jesus was crucified on a Friday. Some say this is where that fear of Friday the 13th began, but this is not the only theory.
Not A Complete Number …show more content…
On Friday, October 13, 1307 many Knights of Templar were arrested and some even tortured and killed. This is another theory of where Friday the 13th originated from.
Witches

Some believe the idea of Friday the 13th came from the number of witches in a coven, which was the number 13. I guess those witches in those days we're nothing like the witches in Hocus Pocus then...
It's Just Unlucky
When it comes down to it many believe the day is just unlucky just because. There may not be any rhyme or reason to Friday the 13th being a spooky day, other than the belief that it doesn't fall all that often during the year. Maybe it's just the chance of the day happening that scares people.
