Jack Barra 3/5/24 Sports Psychology The movie “Friday Night Lights” is a movie where it is entertaining, fun and it has many aspects to it where you can learn about life through sports. The movie takes place mainly down in Odessa,Texas in 1988 where a local high school known as the Permian Panthers has state championship goals and expectations going into the season knowing the roster and coaching that they currently have. A few years prior, they had taken the big award down there of winning the state championship in Texas. Their coach Gary Gaines is a very tough coach to play for and has in mind the goal of winning it all throughout the season. During the first game of the season, their star running back Boobie Miles gets injured in their blowout …show more content…
If it does anything, it may even hinder his performance due to the fact that mentally it could bother the player if he is treated like that. You should not do punishment that harsh verbally instead you have to talk to the player and go through what you do to make it right and especially when it is your father you should have your sons back when you know there is a big goal for the overall team and your son wants to do well but needs proper advice and coaching. Like the goal of winning the Texas State Championship, whether it's sports or beyond sports in the real world, you have to set a reasonable goal of what you want to succeed. Success is everywhere today and you need to do that to be effective at your job. Whether it's making sure everybody is doing their proper role like in the movie or doing your role, you have to make sure that you are working towards your goal. If you don't reach your goal there could be consequences like when prior to the season it was basically a championship or bust for the team. In real life, if you do not reach your own goal, there could be consequences, whether it's job security or not making the right amount of money that you or someone else needs to make. It is overall a lesson that we can all use because we need to set goals in the real world to succeed and be the best we can possibly be. In conclusion, the movie “Friday Night Lights” has goal setting as the main lesson that you learn throughout the movie. When you are expecting to win the Texas State Championship, you are setting a goal and that is what is happening in the

If you have ever seen the movie Friday Night Lights, you would…
