If it does anything, it may even hinder his performance due to the fact that mentally it could bother the player if he is treated like that. You should not do punishment that harsh verbally instead you have to talk to the player and go through what you do to make it right and especially when it is your father you should have your sons back when you know there is a big goal for the overall team and your son wants to do well but needs proper advice and coaching. The movie overall did a great job making sure it shows goal setting, but I would do a couple things differently. The first is having more team meetings because of Coach Gaines being a good leader and making sure that they set their goals. Like the goal of winning the Texas State Championship, whether it's sports or beyond sports in the real world, you have to set a reasonable goal of what you want to succeed. Success is everywhere today and you need to do that to be effective at your job. Whether it's making sure everybody is doing their proper role like in the movie or doing your role, you have to make sure that you are working towards your goal. If you don't reach your goal there could be consequences like when prior to the season it was basically a championship or bust for the team. In real life, if you do not reach your own goal, there could be consequences, whether it's job security or not making the right amount of money that you or someone else needs to make.
