Since most people tend to have either conservative or liberal viewpoints, certain comics might have a greater impact on a specific party. Political comics is the best example when it comes to identifying how comics convey meaning with little to no text. Most of these comics critique either party through metaphorical illustrations. In consequence, one party may feel offended while the other may get a chuckle out of it. For instance, I recently came across a comic where Donald Trump is depicted as a mischievous cat doing. In this case, the illustrator may have depicted Donald Trump as a cat with a certain critique in mind, but the audience may interpret it differently. Conservatives can either take offense to seeing the President depicted as an animal or associate this depiction with positive attributes of cats. In contrast, liberals may again either take offense for seeing the POTUS depicted as a cat or will associate the cat version of the cat with the negative attributes of cats. Each interpretation is a direct result of context, in this case political context. Creamer explains in her text Reducing Americas Economic… how perception of each party has become extreme therefore creating a tense context for each
