Frida Kahlo Analysis

Frida Kahlo was born in Coyoacan, Mexico City on July 6, 1907. Her family ethnicity is quite diverse. Her father has a German background while her mother has(is) half Amerindian and half Spanish. The house she grew up in is now known as the ‘Blue House’. (“Blue House.”)Frida was the middle child with two older sisters and one younger sister. (sentence structure) Growing up, her health was always quite poor. At the age of six she came in contact with polio and was bedridden for nearly nine months. Even after healing from polio, she suffered long lasting effects one being her right leg grew thinner than the left. Her and her father always kept a really close relationship all throughout her life. Frida Kahlo later married a man named Diego Rivera, who she loved very much. She even painted him a few times. Instead of it being painted right in the middle it is painted off to the side a little. It kind of gave her the effect that she was looking to the side instead of straight on. In this photo there is no movement simply because she was doing a still life photo. Her proportion was always right because she knew how to draw and paint the body the right way. She knew how to paint people because she was able to paint herself, which a lot of artist aren't able to do. This painting Reminds me of how well she knew herself. Because of her lack of confidence she wanted to paint herself to make herself feel better about her situation. This painting shows me that people deal with situations in different ways. It also shows me that people still believe that the third eye has powers. Which the third eye powers are being able to see into other peoples feeling. The people who can use the third eye are known as the seers. Although some people don't believe in the third eye and its gifts clearly Frida did and she must of believed in the
