To sit and talk to her about what goes through her mind when she paints would be the greatest joy. Even though I am not an art enthusiast I can still relate to her work, and feel what she felt. Frida was living in a time where she didn’t belong; she was well past the 20th century. Frida has been described as: “… one of history’s grand divas… a tequila-slamming, dirty joke-telling smoker, bi-sexual that hobbled about her bohemian barrio in lavish indigenous dress and threw festive dinner parties…” Frida Kahlo is someone I would marvel to just look at; it’s not just her artwork that makes her unique but also her personality. She wanted to live life to the fullest, she wanted controversy, and she wanted the ups and downs in life because that is what fueled her paintings. I would love for her to pass down her passion to me; it doesn’t have to be her passion for painting, but just a passion as strong as hers was for painting. She was strong and passionate even being confined to a bed for a whole year she still found a way to stay sane. I look up to her because if that was me I would have done the same thing, but my painting abilities wouldn’t be up to her standards; maybe I would have wrote and been famous like she was.
