In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet have you ever thought about who should or was punished and pardoned for Romeo and Juliet's deaths? In the play Romeo and Juliet there are two households that are in a war, but in the middle of all the hatred, their only children fell in love. Romeo is the son of the Montagues and Juliet is the daughter of the Capulets. In their love that was surrounded by hatred, they lost their lives. The loss of their lives that brought an end to the war between the families. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence and the Nurse should be punished and Benvolio should be pardoned for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Friar Lawrence from Romeo and Juliet should be punished for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. One reason is that he married Romeo and Juliet. "Come, come with me, and we will make short work" (II.ii.36). In this quote, he was marrying Romeo and Juliet even though he said that they were going to fast and that leads to destruction. Also, he gave Juliet the potion that made her look dead. Friar Lawrence gave Juliet a sleeping potion that made her seem like she was dead. In the

He didn't want to fight, he wanted to keep the peace between the Montagues and Capulets. "I do but keep the peace/ put up they sword, or manage it to part these men with me" (I.i.63-64). Benvolio was trying to stop a fight from happening between the Montagues and Capulets. Also, he was a good friend to Romeo but never chooses a side between the Montagues and Capulets. He told Romeo about the Capulet party because he was trying to cheer him up. Benvolio was trying to get Romeo over Rosaline so he was just trying to be a good friend to Romeo. This was just showing that he cared for his friend and wanted to help Romeo. Benvolio should be pardoned for the Romeo and Juliet's deaths, he was just trying to be a good friend and wanted to keep the peace between the two
