In the play Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is the most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. To begin, Friar Lawrence illegally marries Romeo to Juliet. The friar knows the couple's families have never gotten along, however without thinking about what the consequences are going to be between the families, he marries them. Also, Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a potion that makes her seem dead for fourty-two hours. The Friar thinks the only way out of the mess he makes is for everyone to think Juliet is dead; so she can not marry Paris but, the friar does not think about what could happen if Juliet woke up too soon or too late. Finally, Romeo does not get the news that Juliet is just asleep. Friar Lawrence tells Friar John to go to Mantua
