In the play Romeo and Juliet Friar Lawrence is not responsible for the demise of Romeo and Juliet. Clearly, because of his actions, the blame of the lovers death should not fall upon him for the following reasons: Firstly, Friar was a man who was trusted a great deal by the people who knew him. More often than not, youth of Verona would seek his counsel for the struggles they had. Others, looked up to him and believed he was wise. In the play the Nurse states,”O lord I have stayed here all the night to hear good counsel. O, what learning is!” (IIIiii160). This statement solidifies at least one person feelings about the Friars advice.
