“Seal up the mouth of outrage for a while, till we can clear these ambiguities.” There is obviously someone that needs to be blamed for the deaths that happened in the past week. In Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Nurse and Lord Capulet should all be punished for their actions.
Friar Lawrence is one of the first characters that should be punished because of his actions. The first reason is that he married Romeo and Juliet. He went behind their parents back and decided to marry them even though he knew what he was doing would get him in trouble. The second reason why he should be punished is that he could have prevented Romeo and Juliet’s death. If he would have just taken the letter to Romeo, instead of making a friend do it, the plan would have worked and they wouldn’t have died. Lastly, he was the one that came up with that plan to fake Juliet’s death. He was the reason the Romeo, Juliet, Paris, and Lady Montague died. If Friar and Juliet hadn’t come up with that plan, Romeo and Juliet could have just been together in secret, instead of both of them dying. Overall, Friar Lawrence should be punished because he could have prevented multiple deaths from happening.

The first and biggest reason would be that she kept all of Juliet’s secrets. If she would have told her parents, then this situation could have been prevented. She also went to go talk to Romeo after he was exiled. She realized that Juliet was upset about Romeo, so she went to go talk to him and even invited him over to Juliet’s house for a romantic evening. Lastly, she told Juliet to marry Paris, even though she knew that she was with Romeo. Being married to two people at the same time is illegal, so she was going against the law just to try and comply with the Capulet’s wishes. Finally, I think that she should be punished because if she would have just told Juliet’s parents, Juliet wouldn’t have had to

Finally, the character I believe should be punished after all of this is Benvolio. Lord Montague thinks of him as perfect in the story, whereas if he wouldn’t have pushed Romeo to get over Rosaline and find a new love, this might of never happened. When Benvolio poked and pried Romeo to get over Rosaline, he pushed him to go look and see if he could find a different love. In the text it read, “ Go thither; and, with an untainted eye, Compare her face with some that I shall show, And I will make thee think thy swan a crow.” When Benvolio said this, he told Romeo to go and look at other women to see if they’re more beautiful, and this is when Romeo first saw Juliet.…

The Friar is to blame for all that was happening. If he would have brought that letter to romeo then he might not have even had to kill himself. Even though the Friar got stuck trying not to catch the black plague he still should’ve at least try to make it to Romeo. The Friar could’ve legitimately kill juliet if he gave her the wrong potion. Romeo would’ve never thought to go to juliet’s tomb and think she’s actually dead if he got the letter and realized Juliet wasn't dead.…

A person will be pardoned if they had good intentions, and a person will be punished if they lack sufficient evidence for their actions. Friar Lawrence had an important role into allowing Romeo and Juliet to get secretly married, but he should be pardoned as he only wanted the two families to end their feud. I don’t think they realised exactly what they were doing, or what it could result in, but I still can’t help but think how childish it was of them to restrict anyone to associate with the Montagues. Forcing Juliet to marry, when she clearly was repulsed by the thought was absolutely foolish. They should have realised that hate would only lead to harm however it wasn’t until one of their own, the young Juliet, was driven to a painful death did they realise what they were doing was wrong. Even then. After everything, they couldn’t even bare to look at the Montagues, to try and fix everything, was losing their own daughter not enough to open their eyes to the hideous truth?…

Capulet should not have been charged for anything because he did not do anything wrong that would be worth charging him for. I believe that Capulet, Lady Capulet, Montague, and Lady Montague are the reason for Romeo and Juliet’s death. The family feud has all started because of the parents. That means Romeo and Juliet are supposed to be enemies but the two ended up falling in love. Neither one of the parents should be charged for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, They did not physically kill them, it's what they verbally do to make them feel the way they did and made them kill themselves to be together forever.…

Sometimes when youth need help they will go to a priest or a reverend, however in Romeo and Juliet by Willam Shakespeare Friar Lawrence proved this to be a bad idea. In this play there are many people to blame for everything that happens, but Friar Lawrence is most to blame because he married Romeo and Juliet, he had bad plans, and because he withheld information from Romeo and Juliet’s parents. Friar Lawrence’s first mistake was marrying Juliet to Romeo. He knows that they had just met the night before.
