If the next generation is our future, would that consider a senior in high school to be more valuable than a senior in college in society? If the new generation will bring more excellence, knowledge, and a different outlook to the way things are to insure a better tomorrow, the youngest would hold the most worth. In high school, seniors are the ones who rule the school, and is believed that they will be our next line of doctors who will find a cure for cancer or save our planet from global warming.…

College Writing And Reading For The Incoming Freshman The transition between High School and University writing can be challenging to the ill-prepared student. In high school we might have gotten great feedback from teachers about our work: “great job”, “very good” etc, but in college our professors might comment differently most likely because they are searching for something different in college writing. Most often because professors expect a different style of writing than that of a high school class, such as a more developed opinion on the subject rather than a summary of what you researched. The most significant differences are visible in structure, research, argument, and format. In college writing, we move away from the standard…

I was a little skeptical about taking this class in my first semester at Loyola, I wasn 't sure what it was going to be about or what influence it would have in my career. The self-assessments we did in class for the past few weeks were very intriguing for me. There were many surprises because over the past few years I have gone through a personality transformation. Part of this change is my decision to pursue a bachelor 's degree and my dissatisfaction with my educational growth throughout the past years. As a result, my professional skills have changed dramatically; my values, interests, and passions, however, have remained relatively unchanged.…

In order to attempt to answer this question, we came up with six questions (apart from also collecting general demographics) we wanted to ask students around the NAU Flagstaff campus. On the 2nd day of class when we did the decision-making continuum I fell into the no idea category. When we did this activity I felt nervous since I realized that I really had no idea as to what I wanted to major in, but once we started filling out our goal sheets I felt confident that this class would help me greatly in choosing a major which it did. This class has taught me that some of my beliefs about choosing a career or major were myths. I use to think that whatever you majored in would be what you do for the rest of your life. When that is not the case just because you major in something doesn’t mean you will be doing that for the rest of your life.…
