No longer was I going to let another precious year slip through my fingertips without me having made the best of it, both academically and mentally. With every passing day I was forming myself to be a more mature young adult. From now on I was going to become an independent person and I would stop relying on others to take care of my responsibilities. It was time to grow up. Now I’m a junior taking three AP classes, involved in four different school clubs, and four extracurricular activities outside of school. An entirely contrary person of whom I was just two years ago. High school has opened my eyes to an entirely new way of perceiving the manner in which one decides to live their life. In the same way that I let my grades diminish so rapidly, I was able to begin laying down the blocks that would build my future. Whether those building blocks were strong and reliant or meaningless was up to me. Nobody else was going to make that choice but me. Not to discredit everybody either because I have had the privilege of meeting remarkable people along the way as well. They have encouraged me and provided me with their unconditional support as I journey through this once in a lifetime experience. Having learned from my mistake I have since then been diligent with all of my classwork and seen myself become a more devoted individual in every aspect of my life not only at school but outside of my classroom as well. As long as you have determination and put your mind to your goals, nothing is impossible. There are going to be times where all you want to do is give up because you just become so unbelievably frustrated and feel helpless. But you must persevere, nothing in this life is easy, but I've come to learn that the hardest things often times offer the greatest rewards. I can say that I didn't let my dreams be simply dreams. I took the initiative and worked towards those dreams with
