Many find it easier to lift the car supported by jack stands. If you are unsure of how to jack up your car, you can check with the owner’s manual for instructions. Once the vechicle is raised, place the drain pan under the drawing plug. Then, remove the drain plug using the ratchet
Crider 2 and socket. Allow all the oil to drain out into the pan until the flow comes to a drip. Using a rag, clean around the drain plug opening and the plug. Reinstall the drain plug back into the oil pan (NAPAFilters). Next, loosen the oil filter. An oil filter wrench will be required for this step. Place the oil pan under the old filter. As it is being removed, turn it up to ensure any remaining oil does not spill. Clean the mounting surface on the engine with a rag. This step ensures the gasket from the old filter is not stuck. Lightly apply a coat of the fresh oil to the rubber seal before installing the new filter. Place the new filter in position and check the seal to make sure it is inserted properly. Once it is inserted properly, then screw the filter on by hand
