Frequent gym goers, personal trainers, nutritionists, and athletes recognize the acronym FITT to be the foundation to their own health. The acronym stands for, “Frequency Intensity Time Type”, and they describe key points of a workout that you can maximize and get the best training out of. Frequency is generally defined as the amount of times you perform something under a given amount of time. Without going to the gym or training almost every day, you will not be able to build the muscle mass and the cardio strength you want to achieve. Also, not frequently exercising can cause unwanted fat gain and poor health. Furthermore, intensity is another key point for exercising for a reason. When someone lifts, their muscles tear microscopically, and rebuild to endure that weight. The more intensely you lift, the more muscle you will gain. For cardio, you will never improve your distance or health if you remain running the same speed. It is necessary for you to increase the intensity of your workout in order to become for fit, and to stimulate your metabolism, and other bodily functions. …show more content…
Time is a key factor in successful weight loss or muscle gain. For weight training, you need to increase the amount of your reps in order to tone and increase your muscle mass. It is recommended that you should do 30 to 60 minutes of cardio almost every day in order to stay healthy. Continuing further, the type of workout that you perform is important because, in order to loss fat and burn calories effectively, you have to be able to incorporate both cardio and strength into your workout. Overall, you need to perform all aspects of FITT in order to have a successful workout. Each aspect of the acronym intertwines with one another, and without practicing one, you will not be able to do the others
