When I went to France to visit my grandparents, they told me this very story and the aftermath of the war on Europe as well as the world. Before the World War II, my great grandfather was a chivalrous man and a talkative person. He was the kind of gentleman who would put a smile on your face and his presence engendered a sense of happiness and joy. Nonetheless, like almost everybody who has served in a war, it is very hard to recuperate from the atrocities experienced. So we all know about how us Gatumba’s surviver youth have been the talk of everyone about how we disrespect our loved ones; by using the memorial time to do things that aren’t supposed to be done at the memorial. I chose Provence for the geographical benefits of the regions such as being close to the Mediterranean Sea as well as Maritime Alps and having the Rhône River as its western border. In Provence, there are many major and well-known cities, such as Nice, Marseille, and Monaco.…

The first monument to be dedicated to unknown soldiers was the Civil War Monument. This monument was finished in 1866 and under it is a vault containing remains from 2,111 soldiers. These remains are not bodies, they are only pieces of bodies like skulls or a few bones. These remains were collected from the battle fields of Bull run and the route to Rappahanock. The monument can be found in section 26 of 70 in the Arlington cemetery and is engraved with a message reminding the visitors that although these bodies could not be identified, “their names and deaths are recorded in the archives of their country, and its grateful citizens honor them as their noble army of martyrs.…

The mural on the left shows an Etruscan tomb, more specifically it shows young men and women frolicking in a lively and colorful way. The reasoning for this type of decoration inside the tomb is to promise that life after death will be fun, and lively, and happy for those buried in the tomb. The theme in the left tomb is supposed to show dancing and happiness of both men and women in hopes that the paintings represent the afterlife of those people buried there. The image on the right shows a Christian catacomb that has religious themes that the Etruscan one doesn't represent. The reasoning for the Christian catacombs was the fact that Christianity wasn't the official religion of the region in which this tomb was created therefore…
