During the French Revolution, and the events after that, many people lost their lives due to the conflict itself, and the executions that followed. Among these people that lost their lives are Louis XIV, Robespierre, Marie Antoinette, and countless innocent civilians. Therefore, the French Revolution was harmful to the people of France due to famine, the end of the Estate System, and the Reign of Terror.
The end of the Estate System basically brought an end to order in France. The Estates were the Social Structure in France, with the Third Estate being the commonwealth of France, the Second being the Nobility, which included the King, and the First being the Clergymen. After he had returned to France from Italy, Napoleon had been plotting the coup with one of the current Directors, Emanuel Sieyes, to put the two men in power. Napoleon, a Military Leader, had crowned himself Emporer in 1799. He led his men on many military campaigns, most of which were victorious.The Battle of Leipzig had been a crushing defeat for him, getting him exiled. After being exiled to Elba, he had escaped and returned to France with a hero’s welcome. He lead another campaign, which led to yet another defeat at the Battle of Waterloo, being captured by the British and exiled for the second time to the Island of Saint Helena in 1815, spending the last seven years of his life there and dying in 1821. Prior to these defeats, he established the Napoleonic Code, which was adopted in a number of European and Latin American countries. Therefore, Napoleon helped bring an end to the French Revolution because of the code that he had imposed on France and other countries. Napoleon Bonaparte died at the age of 52 on the island of Saint
