The question of the American Revolution being justifiable or not, is actually a difficult question to answer. One could argue that the Revolution was unjustified because while the American colonists “thought of themselves as British subjects,” they were paying hardly any tax in comparison (American Yawp). Further one could argue, that to say that the American Revolution was justified would be to say that the French & Indian war was justified, because it was impossible to have one without the other, and forcing the French off the land was not rationalized. Yet, despite this, considering the time period and the amount of time colonists’ spent trying to have their voices heard, do believe that the American Revolution was justified.
