Freedom Writers Book Vs Movie Analysis

In “Freedom Writers” many differences between the book and the movie are shown. But there are also some similarities. I will be comparing and contrasting some of the most important differences from the book and the movie. I’m going to be starting with the differences. I’m bad at writing openings, so the rest of the paragraphs are going to look longer than this one. One of the biggest differences in the movie is that instead of writing and meeting Zlata Filipović, they meet Miep Gies. This may have happened on a smaller scale in the book and I just don’t remember it, but if it wasn’t in the book, I’d have to say this is probably the biggest difference. Another big difference is that in the book, it never even mentioned her husband, much less have almost a fifth of the movie about him. One final big difference for this paragraph is Erin’s father. They didn’t mention him in the book that much either, but he’s in a lot of the movie. They got a lot of the movie right in sync with the book, also. I don’t want to sound like one of those people who just rant about the big differences between movies and books. *cough* Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief *cough* But I also want to point out some similarities. You just cannot compare and contrast movies from books because it would be saying or identifying the best bunch of the two. And you really can’t tell the best bunch of the two no matter how conclusive your defense might be. If you do it would be like desecrating Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa painting or castrating Michelangelo’s David.
