The Freedom Walkers were a group of people that boycotted the Montgomery buses because they wanted equal rights on the buses. They had to sit in the back of the buses and after all the seats for white people filled up, the blacks had to get up and move farther back, sometimes even stand up. The bus drivers even treated them differently, if the blacks didn’t give a seat up for a white person, they would get yelled at and get kicked off the bus. If they didn’t get off the bus, the police would come and beat them and they would go to jail. Martin Luther King JR. made a plan, where they wouldn’t ride the buses until the law was made where there was equality on the buses. Some whites didn’t agree with this, so they bombed a few places, one being a church where 4 girls were killed. Emmett Till was killed because apparently, it’s wrong to give someone a compliment? No, he was killed because a group of racist white people couldn’t handle it and didn't think it was right even though it was harmless. All the bus boycotters were walking for equal rights. The lunch counter sit-ins were harmless, and yet people still didn’t like that. None of these groups of white people wanted life to change. They acted with violence rather than just telling them to leave. The blacks didn’t stand a chance up against the judges because they were mostly white and they didn’t want the white to pay the price for something they did.
