Freedom vs Safety, a battle that will never fully resolve. There is an umpteen amount of reasons each item is exceptional, and is viewed as important to a variety of people. Freedom is the power to be unrestrained and unhindered. We see numerous situations in the world, as we know it where freedom is denied and the thought of safety being promised in return is nevertheless denied as well. North Korea being an example to that, dictated by the un wrenching government powers, are the people of North Korea really safe? Dictators and tyrannical leader come from people turning to safety and jeopardizing their freedom. The realization when referring to slaves is that safety is never promised. You learn that safety is never perfect and it is almost impossible to never suffer, and freedom is an opportunity to pave your safety. The question, questions the idea of safety by using a piece of history that hits many lives in a negative way. It brings to the table, a situation where both freedom and safety were absent. A known fact being that slaves had no freedom but desired to be free. An unrecognized fact that comes to question is were the slaves safe in return for no freedom? An answer to that based on the evidence presented in many historical readings and such is no. Slaves in general were treated very poorly. Reasons being they were forced to labor under an iron foot of their owners. There was unethical as well as unmoral treatments towards slaves, whether it was 1820 in America or it was the 302 BC in the Roman Empire.
