In June 2015, Donald Trump announced his presidential candidacy for the 2016 Presidential Election of the United States. In his surprising speech, he insulted Mexicans by calling them rapists, criminals, problematic, and killers. As a Mexican-American, I remember the anger I felt towards Mr. Trump for stereotyping me. I also remember the hurt I saw in my mother’s eyes while she tried to assimilate that Mr. Trump’s words didn’t hurt her. While I was sitting on the couch watching our television with Mr. Trump expressing his thoughts, it was at that moment I decided I would not stand for it.
