Freedom of press, religion, and speech. That is what the first amendment of our constitution states. The government has enabled us, as the citizens of America, to make our own decisions and have the right to our own freedom. What makes choosing our food any different? After the government funded school lunches to make healthier decisions for the youth America, most children didn 't eat lunch. In fact, they were thrown away and the money that was taken from us citizens, was "drained". We should be endowed to our own self-control. That 's what differs us from dictating countries, correct? The United States government should not substantially increase legislation/regulation aimed at improving overall health of American citizens through the reduction of junk food consumption because taxes may affect low-income families and citizens who live in "food deserts", unhealthy food is at an extremely cheap price, while healthy food is overpriced, and non-healthy eating habits have become a habit to the point where it won 't stop, which will cause illicit sales.
