Freedom When one considers freedom, he or she may think of the ability to choose what to do and when to do it. In the novel A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, freedom is one issue the main character, Alex, has to deal with. In the novel, it states, “If lewdies are good that is because they like it…” (Burgess, Clockwork 40). This points to the idea that if people are good, they are choosing to be such due to a desire to do the right thing. If people do not have the option to choose, they are not really free.
