Freedom, if only it were real, if only it were not so desperately longed for to the point of bringing pain and misery to all who seek it. Most people have the ideology that freedom feels like being a dog without chains free to roam the earth. In turn freedom is life with a no restrictions and only as many possibilities as one pleases to exist. Freedom is what people yearn for throughout life only to learn it does not exist in this world. Based on geographical locations, knowledge, and wealth of an individual the definition of freedom is ever-changing. This essay will work to define freedom as a state of being free of at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint. Many denotative terms go with freedom, some relatable to most and others in a not so direct way. According to Dictionary.com the term “freedom” can be described as the absence of or release from ties, obligations, etc. The way the dictionary describes freedom is mainly about having physical freedom and freedom from mandatory obligations, such as work, bills, government, slavery, etc. The denotative descriptions revolve around the physical aspect of freedom and tends not to go into depth about the psychological aspects of freedom. Most in life conform their beliefs to the denotative definition to prevent an internal feeling of eternal failure.
