On pages 154-156 it says that Billy knows that the airplane he is on is going to crash, but he doesn’t want to look like a fool in front of people. Billy could have change the future he knew was going to happen.But in the end Billy and only one other person survived out of who knows how many people. There is another situation where Billy could've changed his fate.Billy had stopped dead center in the road for he could get shot. The first shot missed, and Billy stayed for the other shot to happen, it missed. (33). Billy could have easily moved out of the way of the shot. If Roland didn’t save Billy, Billy’s future would be gone. But Billy wasn't thinking straight and moral was wrong for just wanting to do what he was doing. The Tralfamadorians say, “Only on Earth is there any talk of free will.” (86) . Free will is the ability to choose between different possible courses of action unimpeded. This is showing that free will isn’t everywhere how some people think it is. Another example that shows this is on page 52 “The dog, who sounded so ferocious in the winter distances, was a female German Shepard. She was shivering. Hee tail was between her legs. She had been borrowed that morning from a framer. She had never been to war before. She had no idea what the game was being played. Her name was Princess.” The dog didn't get an option to not do it. She was scared and confused but she didn't have a choice. This an example of not having free will to decline the part of going into
