Free use of fire Arms in America Do you know that every 12 hours a person is assaulted in U.S? The FBI shows us that more than 1.2 million people had any kind of gun event in 2013. Also it is known that in 2012 there were more than 14.000 murders by fire arms (1). Even though it is true that there have been several incidents caused by the use of fire arms, the facts mentioned earlier show us that the American people are looking for free gun ownership mostly due to self-protecting reasons, such as to have safe houses, to be prepared against crimes and assaults, and to avoid children abduction. One of the prevalent reasons that American opted to free own gun is having safer houses. More than 73% of the burglary in 2012 was in residences (2). It is mentioned by NRA (National Rifle Association) “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” (1). I have known that police recommends to have a gun in our houses as a good house safety practice. As a result of this, one reduction of the house robbery cases can be obtained because it persuade intruders to get into your house when they think you might have a gun. Whereas, they will propel to get into your house if a control gun law is approved. In addition, a gun in the home is not uncommon considering that half of the homes in America have one.
