Everyday, all around the world, there are people who are both desiring to change and are changing their national identities, thereby becoming immigrants in other countries. With this global movement of people around the world, in and out of countries, there are advantages and disadvantages, both to the donor country and the receiving country. In this essay, I have chosen to discuss whether changing national identities, by immigrants and refugees alike, is a benefit or not to the American nation, and why this may be, since this issue is complex due to arguments that come from many different perspectives.
