One man who was inspired by Attucks went by the name of Prince Estabrook, who was a former slave that later became the first African American soldier to fight on the side of the colonists against the English as one of the Minutemen Privates. Before this, Prince Estabrook’s master, Benjamin Estabrook promised to free Prince Estabrook, but only if he enlisted in the Lexington army. With this offer of freedom, Prince Estabrook gladly volunteered to risk his life on the battlefield as the Lexington Minutemen. Prince Estabrook amongst other Minutemen fought till the end of the American Revolution in 1783 but suffered from an injury, but survived. Prince Estabrook reward for his bravery was freedom and a paid job.8 Estabrook stands as one of the…

Apps market rostrum includes Google, Apple, Microsoft and numerous more. This scenario has an impact on the macroeconomics and the production possibility frontier since it produces efficiently services and goods.…
Aashi Mittal (7th Grader) WEB Application To me, my purpose has always been to help everyone feel more comfortable with not only each other, but also themselves. What compels me to be a WEB member is the way I felt when I was about to become a sixth grader, and oftentimes throughout my first two years here: Like I didn’t belong. It’s a hard feeling to forget, which is why I want to help the new incoming students of next year understand that their differences don’t have to be what set them apart. While these differences make them shine, having those differences makes them similar to everyone else, being that everyone is different.…
dvertising is a dynamic subject. Yet with a strong advertising campaign, the results can be incredibly effective. Apple’s “Get-A-Mac” Campaign is a wonderful example that showcases a product, increases awareness for the use of that product, and also is a wonderful example of changing the stigma of two companies. To understand this, Apple and Microsoft must be looked at before the campaign ran, The financial differences they held, and then showing the change of the social and financial situation. All data, and information has been gathered from Kelton Rhoads, “Get-A-Mac Campaign Analysis.”…
The Golden Apple program prepares teachers to enrich the lives of students in need and show them how they can not only survive their current desperate situations, but also grow into agents of change in their lives. This purpose is significant to me because I believe poverty can be viewed as a cycle continued through generations, and that education has the potential to break this cycle of poverty for individual students, or at least help them survive it without forming dangerous habits. Firsthand experience has demonstrated to me that teachers can be a positive influence in their students’ lives and can even instill the development of life-changing abilities; though they may not be able to give these children clothing and food, they still can give them hope, strength, knowledge, patience, inspiration, and the capacity to form healthy habits and friendships.…
Common App Essay Halfway down the Mississippi River, between St Louis and Cape Girardeau, lies a sleepy town called Sainte Genevieve. Proudly labeled the “Oldest settlement West of the Mississippi,” it is rich with heritage. The town of roughly 4,200 people feels like it has been frozen in the eighteenth century, but not only by architecture and culture; Sainte Genevieve lacks modern ethnical and racial diversity. According to United States Census data, Sainte Genevieve is 96.2% Caucasian as of 2010.…
One in five households in America owe students loans. Student debt is a rising problem in the United States. Back in 2008 there were 40 million people that had outstanding student loans (CNN). Since 2008, that number has gone up to 43 million (Irwin). The numbers keeps increasing as the years go by due to the rising cost of attendance.…
For this assignment I will be reviewing the book The App Generation: How Today’s Youth Navigate Identity, Intimacy, and Imagination in a Digital World written by Howard Gardner and Katie Davis. The idea for this book evolved from a conversation between Gardner and his colleagues of Harvard Project Zero regarding technology and how it influences the “ethical compass of young users.” This topic became of particular interest to Davis thus, she began her doctoral study on the subject at hand (Davis & Gardner, 2013). Gardner and Davis insert themselves into a new generation of “app enabled” and “app dependent” adolescent youth.…
Money. Everybody loves it. But what happens when you go to college and have to pay it back? Debt! Students have to pay all the money they borrow.…
Apple vs. Android If you’ve ever had any doubts regarding the demand for smart phones, research done by IDC states that the global smart phone market has topped 1 billion shipments, covering about one seventh of the world’s population, a new milestone. Most everyone can agree that smart phones are a familiar way of life, but the big debate is whether a user’s best option is to pick out an Apple or Android device. While both Android and Apple dish out portable technology that keeps us connected, they go about it in contrasting ways.…
“Free” Textbooks Is Ease of Mind Not having to pay for textbooks because it is already included in the tuition is amazing because the student knows that they are covered in most, if not all, of the college fees and dues once tuition is paid either out of pocket or with scholarships. That means that the student does not have to pick which books to get for their classes because they do not have enough money to get all the books. Chattahoochee Technical College offering free textbooks as part of the tuition makes it stand out more from the other colleges since once students sign up for classes or find out the general cost of attending, they can start saving up and do not have to worry about not being able to pay for textbooks since it is already…
Barriers Apple is in a unique situation where things that might be a barrier to most company’s actually increase Apple’s desirability. However, there are two things that could potentially be a barrier to Apple succeeding in the iTV arena. First, the avenues available to people to purchase Apple products are traditionally somewhat limited. The iPad/iPhone/iPod have been available in non-traditional Apple retailers like Walmart/Target, however, MacBooks and other higher end Apple products traditionally are only available online or via an Apple store – and recently BestBuy.…
Applications, or apps, as people now call it, are softwares that were invented for smartphones to download. It allows users to perform a specific task conveniently. For example, the app that Google created, Google Docs, allows users to create, edit, and delete documents on their Google Drive. I actually used Google Docs in a long car ride, which allowed me to be productive on some documents that I was required to edit and write on. Also, some smartphone companies have standard apps already included within the phone.…
