Free Hamlet Essays: The Role Of Emotions In Literature

Emotions are inevitable when it comes to being a human. In works of literature, the feelings that are involved are dramatized much more than they need to be. The conflict convinces the main character to feel a strong emotion by a dramatic occurrence. When these events occur, the literary elements involved in the work become stronger, making the work as a whole more eventful. Overall, characters in literature tend to have strong feelings towards certain characters that ultimately take over the literary elements of the work and make the work of literature much more original. The result of wanting what someone else has can be critical. It results in much more conflict and hatred. However, when a person takes away something special to them, it becomes personal. In the play Hamlet, by Shakespeare, Hamlet because insanely jealous over Claudius marrying his mother. Hamlet becomes mad over the thought of this and begins to accuse Claudius of murdering his father. With Hamlet confident enough, he begins to over think. Nothing hurts a person more than being deceived by a person they never expected to be hurt by. The plot eventually is revolved this feeling and is formed because of actions made by characters. In Hamlet, Hamlet feels betrayed by his mother for marrying Claudius and moving on from his father after his death. Hamlet is deeply hurt and this causes him to detach from everyone and try to honor his father himself.
